Michael T. Williams - "Trout in the Clouds"

Alpine Lakes and streams can be truly rewarding. Most of the time you can fish these waters by yourself without seeing another angler for the entire day. These pristine waters are usually surrounded by beautiful forests and the sounds of silence that are only disturbed by an occasional chirping bird or scampering chipmunk. The wild fish here are mostly smaller than your normal roadside fishery, but these fish make up for their smaller size in their beauty and aggressiveness at taking a fly. With a little effort, wilderness fishing can be very enjoyable and provide the angler with many great memories.

Our guest speaker this month is Michael T. Williams from Springfield, Oregon. Mike is a licensed fishing guide in Oregon. He is also a photographer, journalist, accomplished fly tier and rod builder. Mike has been tying flies for many years and is the originator of the world famous “Percolator” – a fly of many guises. His photography has made him a charter member of the Photo Zone Gallery, and as a photo-journalist he is a member of the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association.

Mike is a wilderness traveler and mountain river fly fisher who enjoys the challenge of wilderness fly fishing. His presentation will take us to selected wilderness areas of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado and Wyoming in search of Alpine Trout.

Please join Michael T. Williams for “Trout in the Clouds” – a portrayal of high altitude fly fishing and trekking adventures.
